March 2008

Although March's weather was wild, it seemed like a pretty laid-back month to us.

We had our biggest snow in at least a decade - nearly four inches! I didn't take enough pictures, but let's just say there were some enormous snowmen around town! Leah went sledding for the first time and LOVED it. (It was 1 pm when we finally got out to the golf course, and most of the snow was gone.)

We found ways to have fun indoors on chilly days: our playgroup had a "Fancy Nancy" soiree in honor of our favorite storybook character. We read her books, learned how to act fancy (pinkies up!), decorated treasure chests with sparkles and feathers, and made parfaits.

On a nice Sunday afternoon, we decided to go to the zoo (as did everyone else in the greater Nashville area). Elise was smitten with the goats and LOVES this picture of her brushing the goat. Leah liked the red pandas, which reminded her of "Sagi" from the Barbie Island Princess movie.

We had a chilly Easter egg hunt at church, but there was still a big crowd. Elise and her buddies were more interested in playing on the playground (see eggs on the ground in background) and digging in the mulch than picking up eggs, whereas Leah and the big kids had trouble keeping their baskets from overflowing!

The first time I tried to get an Easter picture, Elise was asleep and Leah was not in the mood. The second time, Leah had the sillies and her sister caught them too. Oh, well. It's us!
